Yes, the leather comes all the way to the edge. This allows you to use it like you would any other stones.

Do you recommend using a compound on the strop?[edit]

Yes, we highly recommend a compound. Our Green Honing Compound will quickly put a fine polish on the edge of knives and tools.

An Easy Way to Apply Green Compound[edit]

We will suggest wearing gloves to perform this method. Pre-Prep the strop with mineral oil. Then Load the strop with compound. It will take some time to heat up. Once it heats up then applying the compound to the strop becomes easy. Apply more oil if required. Wait for the compound to dry before starting the honing process.

How long will this Green Compound bar last?[edit]

When used for stopping, the 170g Green Honing Compound will last a very long time. If you ever use up an entire bar, please congratulate yourself, you've done more stropping than just about anyone.
